When pigs fly

When Pigs Fly :
Something that will never ever happen.

I get it.

(oh by the way, congratulations Leo on winning the Oscars!)

iworeitanyway was born out of trying every thing that I think would look good on me and documenting it along with my thoughts on life. On the span of my ootds, there were fashion risks that might look ordinary to you but is actually a risk for me.

Though I have the propensity to follow a certain pattern when it comes to dressing up, I take a hiatus once in a while and slip into something comfortable like what I am wearing now.

At 29, I still don't know how to drive and I always rely on my husband to drive me around. The weather has gotten hotter since it's already summer and as I grew older, I tend to be more upset than ever when I have multiple errands and have to commute to complete my tasks. This day was one of those days.

My life has been a balancing act lately. I've been trying to juggle my personal life, my husband's health, work-related things and self-expectations and last night I ALMOST got emotional about every thing but as I was talking to Bryan, I realized that amidst all the morass that I'm in, I forgot to pray.

You know what they say about "let go and let God"? Well, I am a bit of a control freak so I've been trying to wrestle the Player 1 controller from Him. I know I am of no challenge when suddenly, the task that I've been dreading but have to do was taken away from be by circumstance.

Did it make me happy? Of course! Though the lack of work load used to rankle me, this time I've decided to step aside, hold the Player 2 controller, let go and let God.

Yes I only comb my hair once a week

Variety is the spice of life

Variety Is The Spice Of Life:

The more experiences you try the more exciting life can be.

I am taking a break from posting lady-like ootds. If you get to know me better, you'll know that I am really a 22 year old hormonal boy. Mostly I wear dresses just so my legs can breathe and my attention span is too short so I easily get distracted when I try to think of what looks compliment a chosen top

We celebrated the International Women's Day last March 8 and this year's theme was Pledge for Parity. This year's theme is a call for a gender-balanced leadership BUT to be fair, we have more female department heads where I am working (a real-estate company).

This entry will not talk about feminism, the unfair regulations against women in general and the likes. Reason for which is simply because I haven't made any thorough research on the matter and as with all things posted in the internet, someone might stumble upon this entry and use it as a legit reference.

However, I'd like to write about what's stopping you from doing the things you want to do just because of your gender

Let's discount those biological causes. Truth be told, I tried doing the number 3 just so I can: 1. save time and 2. to actually test if it's possible but based from my experiment, it's better if us women do it the traditional way.

Growing up as an only child, I knew my father wanted to have a son. For every time I made an achievement of some kind, he always says "that's my son". There was even this point in my adolescent years that he forced me to have a boy-cut (not even a pixie cut!) In all honesty, it didn't matter that he treated me like a boy. More so, it made me realize that just because I am of the softer side (physically speaking) doesn't mean I am helpless. My gender was just a nonsense semantics which never hindered my quest to say "been there, done that". SO, yes, growing up, I was into Sega Super Sonic, Duke Nukem's time to kill, scooters, skimming, not being scared of scarring my legs, softball, DotA, countless Adult Rated PC games, poker and probably other things that makes an average person question my sexual preferences.

I never really thought of them as manly hobbies but things that I am just interested to explore. I never doubted that someday the husband of my dreams will find me (DID) and though I was mistaken for a lesbian one too many, I don't really mind. I always say I can't be fit into a box mainly because I grew up not having one and I will forever be indebted to my late father because of that.

So yes, I can be lady-like but see these callouses on my knuckles? It's because I box 3-5 times a week. My calves are toned like a man's and it's because I can confidently strut in a four-inch heels. I can do your make-up and I can also go for an all-night discussion about houses, why Left4Dead is underrated and the unfinished story of TLOU. I threw away my cleats because my ankles have been injured by football many times but I can talk to you about Unilad, memes, and life choices as we walk from Point A to Point B. I am clueless around ovens but I can make a decent meal from whatever I can find in our fridge. I keep the husband entertained by my observations which I highly analyze but I can openly argue about him about splitting of payables, dashboard confessionals and future travel plans without involving my emotions about it.

To all the women out there, of course it's never too late. Get out of the molding tray you've been trapped into, throw away those cookie sheets and be free.

The air is fresher once you've fully embedded that endless opportunities and new things are out there for your taking even though there's no extra skin and muscle between your legs (ick).

Surely your momma didn't endure hours of labor just so you'll be a clone of what you see on TV?

When it rains, it pours

When It Rains, It Pours:

When something good or bad occurs, it usually occurs more than once and often within a short  period of time.

Are you on your quarter life crisis phase? I remember that I was having mine a few years back and it was a never heard-of thing. In fact, a friend just chalked it up to my PMS-ing. I felt quite misunderstood then but quarter life crisis IS REAL. I think that this moment in our lives stemmed from peer pressure, social media and the feeling of inadequacy in the midst of the environment which constantly remind us that we are far better than what we think we are.

I am now 29 years old and I've been given a middle management position before reaching my 30s. Though I am 100% confident and competent job-wise, I can't say the same with the direction of my life and if you are like me, I want to assure you that IT'S OKAY.

We are not supposed to figure out what our life would be 5,10 or 15 years from now because life will always be a continuous pursuit of what you like, what you want to do and what makes you happy. Death is a conclusion of what you have discovered about yourself and no one wants to live a life constantly finding out what's NOT for you.

OVERRATED right?
IT IS.

But are you actually applying that in real life? Because the debate of chasing your happiness vs. being financially stable is always present.
Do they even have to be against each other? Or am I being too idealistic?

In the end, it's a matter of perspective. You can either wake up on a Monday being grumpy that you have an 8-5PM obligation to fulfill or wake up feeling grateful that you heard your alarm right, you are awake, and you have a life which you can either make or break. Others are not as lucky.

In my previous blog posts, I've mentioned about the erratic weather conditions here in my island, I've also talked about having to don an appropriate office attire and this set is one of those I bought at ukay-ukay that only cost me Php20/each
I KNOW RIGHT?!

I can name a few who always say that I don't dress according to my age (act is for another lengthy blogpost) I am not quite sure if that's a compliment or a dose of charity but really, how does one dress according to age? Perhaps it's one of those questions that I have to crowdsource for an answer. In an attempt to uhm, fit in to prevent the ire of the superiors concerned (also not to jinx my used-to be pending promotion), I decided to dress safely..and by safely I mean not showing my arms and skirt not two inches above the knees safely.

Without a doubt

Without A Doubt:
For certain.

Our HR has e-mailed a company policy roll-out discussion a few weeks ago. It basically means that we are going to be oriented with the company policies and guidelines and this is actually the first time that I've heard of such. Us from sales take pride in being creative, outspoken and lively so we were a bit wary with the changes that this forum might impose.

Generally speaking, we were all in agreement with what most of our policies have mandated; I am in total agreement that no sexual advances should be made unless with consent but what makes me disappointed were the dress code rules. I know that I've been secretly violating what's office appropriate but I wish that office fashion enthusiasts (like me) can be tolerated and if worse, be treated with mirth.

I was anticipating the worst so before the company policy, I was already shopping for corporate attires at ukay-ukay. I will be posting my corporate ukay-ukay finds in a few but I also can't say no to buying my constant favorite which are cotton dresses with embroideries. Thirty percent of my blog entries are of me wearing something with embroidery; there's something about stitches, intricate patterns and the like that makes me feel okay with wearing it without having to accessorize.

Since my clothes are very affordable, take for instance, this gray top (I bought this for Php30 only), I tend to buy a lot..and by a lot I really mean a lot. My clothes hoarding is starting to become a small problem at home since I usually buy by half a sack quantity and the husband is the one in-charge to iron them all (I'm addicted to doing the laundry so it poses no problem for me). I feel guilty every after purchase so I compensate by buying clothes for the husband too.

And again, with the quantity of what I bought, I don't really have the time to fit each one so I just estimate the sizes and wish myself luck that it will fit me. I fit em all after I wash them.

..and because of this, the what I-thought-was-a-suitable-length-for-a-dress-turns-out-to- be-omg-it's-too-short-to-be-considered-as-a-dress-but-I-wanna-wear-it-in-the-office -dress..and this has happened to me countless times already..So much so that I've decided to buy a quality pair of stockings and pair it with my mini-dresses/long top.

This combination is always my go-to every time I get victimized by my own purchases. It always makes me look like a character from the Gossip Girl series ..which is a crying shame since I've only watched 10 episodes. Anyway, if you tend to not fit what you bought because of reasons other than mine, it's encouraged that you have to have a presentable-looking pair of leggings, stockings, boy-cut underwear or the likes to prevent wardrobe malfunction

Saved by the Bell

Saved By The Bell:

Saved at the last possible moment

As we all know, February is THE love month. Sardonic as some people can be (claiming as to why we should only show our love on February's only), the husband and I actually look forward to Valentines. As they say, to keep the marriage strong, we should treat our SOs (or in my case, BETTER half) like we are just on the courtship stage of our relationship. We might be sweeter but we are also practical; we decided to have dinner at Ramen Sora with our family but before that, we went to SnR to do our weekly grocery.

I sometimes get asked how my husband and I met. I'd like to think that they do so out of sheer curiosity and not because they think he's just way out of my league. Here's our not so short story and reminiscing about it still makes me smile. I met Bryan when I was at the abject point of my life. I was 24 and in the midst of my quarter life crisis; I had no career accomplishments, I had no financial stability and I just ended a long-term relationship. The only thing that was going right with my life that time was my steady relationship with my friends coupled with our weekly karaoke get-together at Redbox. The husband claims that he's attracted to me before we were officially introduced to each other so when my friend texted him that we were at Redbox, he decided to invite himself.

He's naive when it comes to dating-or so he says. We were on to our first few months in our dating relationship and truth be told, it wasn't as idyllic as it is now. I guess it stemmed from the fact that I expected too much from him and he's still trying to learn the ropes of handling an erratic person.Though he was such a newbie, he showed me how much I mean to him by courting me the old-fashioned way. He went to our old residence and personally asked my parents for the permission to date me. Our relatives who were relatively curious as to what he's up to also "dropped by" our house to check him out personally.

Over the years, he has managed to earn the trust and love of our family, he's the one they usually look for during our gatherings and it makes my heart glad. My parents approve of him because he basically exonerated them with their parental responsibilities towards me. It's very difficult NOT to like him once you get to know him better because he's selfless and naturally kind. Time and again, I always say that I've felt God's love because He gave me a husband whom I can count on (EXCEPT on times when he tries to pick me up on places he's not so familiar with-which consists 90% of Cebu)

So my darling Bryan, this post is for you, thank you for saving me when I didn't know I needed saving. We don't see each other eye to eye at times but because of that, we have clearly defined what marriage should be about. I am looking forward to more Valentines, dashboard confessionals, car karaoke sessions and practical dates with you

Okay let's tackle the lighter content of this blog which is what I am wearing. Dresses are always my safest go-to outfit most especially when doing multiple errands. Aside from embroidery and detailed artwork on clothes, shapeless bohemian inspired dresses are a staple in my closet.

I use them when I feel bloated and at times when we eat out but for every time I want to transform a dress into something more flattering, I use my brown braided belt from H&M.

You are what you eat

You Are What You Eat:

In order to stay healthy you must eat healthy foods.

I lost a 10 kilograms on a span of 7 weeks. Thank you boxing!

The journey is fun. What most people don't know is that you don't have to suffer while losing weight. I love to box, it's something that I look forward to for two hours, five times a week. My trainer thinks I am addicted and there's no point in denying it.

The fact that I lost significant weight in such a short span of time is also a huge bonus that comes with finding the work out that I'm willing to commit to.

What you eat after every workout is also important. Do you know that boxing actually lets you get away with eating carbohydrates after? But as with everything else,it has to be taken in moderation.

My trainer insists that I do my abs workout after boxing and I've been skipping it for as long as I can remember because:
 1. It gives me LBM
2. My fitness buddy switched to ZUMBA and went AWOL on me
3. The results will take time and I am the impatient kind

..but some things you just can't fake; I used to think that my flabby tummy will look invisible but look at how soft it is

I was always into experimenting with different fashion styles as soon as I got hold of my wardrobe budget. It has always been a challenge and I couldn't figure out why so I went back to the basics-which is knowing my body type.

I didn't measure each section of my body (upper to waist, torso to toe, etc.) because my husband honestly think I'm my own worst critique but I know something's off when I USED to have a 24 inch waistline and my choice of clothes wasn't enhancing my USED TO BE "perfect" figure. To cut the story short, I've googled it up and then I realized that I have a short torso. Now, this is not a fatal disorder but most probably it's a body condition that some women are still in denial from. The sooner you accept or know your body type, the easier you will know which clothes can give you an illusion of a proportioned body

Case in point, high-waist skirts. They will totally make you look off but I wear skirts anyway because, hey, long legs. Asymmetrical skirts is the focus of the whole outfit but just so I don't look over washed, I paired it with my Forever 21 red cotton dress. Yes, that top is actually a dress but the length is considered sinful in adherence to our company policy-that and I don't have a flat tummy to justify the skimpiness of this top. As with fitting dresses, it can be considered as top which I did.

If you wear shirts untucked, it gives off a look of longer torso and wide hips... but I can't help but try to pull off an un-photoshopped Kylie Jenner here.
