The whole nine yards

The Whole Nine Yards:

Everything. All of it.

I haven't updated this blog for almost a year and I have a legit excuse for it this time. Motherhood happened and the spare time I have I spend it sleeping, socializing offline and tying up loose ends.

Fact is, motherhood has taken up so much of my time that B and I decided that I can't work and be a mother at the same time. We've been asking for this blessing for a couple of years and now that it has finally arrived, I am willing to give up my 10 years experience in real-estate in exchange for being a newbie mother. It's my first time to admit that I am scared because it's an unfamiliar territory and a small creature will be controlling my waking hours from now on but this road is well-travelled already and I have a support system which is only a call or text away.

For now, I'd like to post a throw back picture before Nate was born. This was taken during one of the many field works I usually do and I get very shy when someone takes a picture of me at public places..and here I am hoping that I could make some semblance of a #ootd entry

Also, have you noticed that I like dressing up like a grandma? Must be my age. Haha

20 DAY LIPSTICK Challenge- Day 7

If you are a lippie fanatic like me and a few of my friends, then you are going to like this challenge. My lipstick choices are in no particular order BUT the every day choice would have to be something that will go well with what I’m wearing. My pictures are all raw as intended so pardon my photography skills.

I know it's been a few months but I don't want to give up on this one just yet so let's just continue, for the 7th day, I chose B52 or #565. Though I actually prefer the pinkish-mauvey hue, this one is more of a pinkish brown shade. The sole reason why I bought this one is it was a dupe for MAC's twig. Nyx B52 is creamy and has a creamy feel which takes getting used to if you are like me who are used to tints and mattes. The color easily fades though I have yet to try applying powder first..but I like that it looks natural on me in real life.

Done with change? The real one is coming

and it's coming sooner than we think; in three days to be exact.

If you have a mother who's into local showbiz (like mine), Dr. Manny and Pie are names that we usually hear on an a weekly basis. Celebrities have thanked them on air time and again but truth be told, I wasn't so curious since I know they don't have a clinic here in Cebu.

When the word got around that A Manny and Pie Calayan clinic will open less than 10 kilometers away from where we live, I just have to confirm and see them for myself. Meeting Dr. Manny and Pie gave me a feeling of meeting actual celebrities since they are known all over Philippines. I was touched that they personally knew and welcomed me during their press conference at SM Seaside. It was an intimate gathering of local press and we were all so enthusiastic to know more about what they are going to offer come July 3, 2016.

Cebu was chosen by both doctors because we are already known for our flourishing medical tourism. They will be opening their third branch here and this is their first clinic in the Visayas region. What makes Manny and Pie Calayan clinic competitive is that they just don't address the evident dilemma, but examines the root cause of the patients' breakouts to provide them the most appropriate treatment. Dr. Manny also has regular consultations with patients on how they can make maintain their post surgical results. Aside from that, every one will have an equal opportunity to meet them personally since they will fly here at least once a week to have one on one consultations with their patients.

Despite having their Calayan Surgicentre Brand for the past years, the couple decided to change their brand name to Manny and Pie Calayan Clinic to distinguish themselves from unauthorized clinics operating and using the Calayan brand here in Cebu.

The real ones is coming and you should experience it yourself. To know more about their services, visit their official website at www.mannyandpiecalayan.com

Water under the bridge

Water Under The Bridge:

Anything from the past that isn't significant or important anymore.

I am in for a long day today. We will have our monthly evaluation along with our bosses and I will be scrutinized as to how well I did last April. I don't normally have any problems work wise but the husband and I had a "civil war" a few hours ago and as with me and well, fights, they usually don't end well. I tend to sulk and be very very mad but as I am very much determined to improve, I just decided to keep my mouth shut the whole drive.

If you think it's taboo that I shared what happened awhile ago, let me tell you that it's normal for married couples to argue and bicker. You'd think that over the period that we dated, moved in a place together and officially got married, we'd be living in harmony, but no. Relationships don't work that way. The greatest challenge of making up after a fight is trying to communicate like an adult that we are when, to be honest, I'd rather act like a spoiled brat.

One tends to set a bar when it comes to finding the "man of their dreams" or the "girl of their wildest fantasies"and of course, the standards are high, after all, YOU deserve the best. The journey of dating, experimenting and starting all over again can be a very tedious process so if you want to take up on something more fulfilling instead, try to be a person for others. Detach yourself for a time so that you can have all the space and energy for growth because love happens inside of you.

When getting into an exclusive relationship, understand that it requires multiple and multi-tasking skills. If you call FB-ing and texting at the same time as a skill, then it's time to stop acting like a robot and feel like a human being.

Find a life partner who accepts that you are different from others and wouldn't have you any other way. Yes you are allowed to have weird habits, you can have strange preferences and it's okay. When s/he "gets" you, call it magic. Love is acceptance and love is a gift

Okay, on to the my outfit. I wore this one a few weeks ago when my mother-in-law visited us. My life is full of multiple errands so I have to be on-the-go always. My temperature was spiking from 37-39 degrees but I paid it no mind since I want to make the most of my MIL's visit.

Again, I bought a blouse that's shaped like a dress. It would have been easy-peasy to just pair this with leggings but I took into consideration that we will be going to Sto. Niño and it's very hot. I took the "Batang 90s" route and paired it with my combat boots.

We stopped by SM Seaside to grab a quick bite so I hid my cycling shorts and made this top look like I was really wearing short dress making my legs look longer

TWENTY THREE SKIDOO

Twenty three skidoo
To be turned away

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE!

Like every one else, I initially planned to start this year with a huge BANG! Like every one else, my goals were to lose weight, cultivate meaningful relationships with people, and let go of things and circumstances that were toxic and useless for me.

There I was sitting on my proverbial high-chair giving solicited advice to people who ask for it and then the "BANG" I was actually waiting for wasn't the kind of impact that I was expecting. I am not going to delve on the specific details because I don't want to attract schadenfreude readers but let's just say that a rejection totally hit me hard yesterday.

If the tables were turned and you are actually the one considered toxic and useless, how would you deal with that rejection?

Circa '11 Nym would've said "F*ck it and move on" but this current version now has a semblance of what they call "heart". As DJ Khaled said, "Don't burn no bridge because you can't walk on water. Only God can walk on water"

Okay, that totally made me laugh

It's normal that you begin to re-evaluate your relationship with that person and self-doubts about your ability to handle relationships WELL will start to surface. You will start to take a lot of things personally and as my favorite fashion blogger said, we are our own worst critics.

We might not feel the need to take it easy on ourselves in the heat of the moment but it will come, eventually. Just like the hurt that we got from being rejected, perhaps the person who made the decision to let us go was also acting out of their own feelings of hurt and fear.

It will also be helpful if you bring out that cynical side of you and actually say "Hey, this is not the first time someone has said NO to me, I've survived and done well before, I will soon be back to normal again"

.. and with closed chapters, we begin to ready ourselves for the new beginning. Who knows? Perhaps my December ending came a few days late and my JANUARY is just about to start.

As I close this entry, Let me talk about my Php200 outfit. I wore this last December during those times in our office that every one was busy NOT minding other people's business.

I bought this dress for Php50.00 ONLY at that ukay-ukay store right across Robinson's Fuente. The cloth is made of stretchable cotton and even though I'm not a fan of ruffles, I made an exception here since it highlights my chest more than my lack of flat abs. Of course, putting both hands in the front pocket also helped..ALOT.

I got the jelly studded flats from Charain for Php150.00 and she also sells other things from USA aside from footwear.
